Powerful Beginning

As I walk into classrooms, I see red cards. I see red cards on desks. Each one creating a new opportunity for each child. They represent a new powerful beginning. Each one reminds the child that they get to be who they say. I read them. I see how the school is beginning to fill up with optimism, courage, attentiveness, and focus. That has always existed in each of these children. Now they have a new opportunity to actually be that and practice that part of them.
I hear comments from teachers. They are excited that THEY are the ones doing this. They are the ones making a difference. I am happy. I am no longer the only one that believes. I have given this away to other teachers so that they too can use it. They too can have an opportunity. They too can feel the choice that they now have. See the child for what he is doing or See the child for what he can be.

I thank the teachers for the work they have done and for the Powerful Beginning of this new year.
